Travel woes have been in the news lately. Storms have closed roads and snarled/canceled/delayed plane flights. This article noted "At the airport in Denver, which was hit with a foot of snow, nearly 500 flights were canceled and another 500 were delayed. On Monday night, 1,000 people slept at the airport. ... Out west, a dangerous storm hit southern Oregon and northern California that meteorologists are calling a 'bomb cyclone' -- a rapidly intensifying winter storm caused by a precipitous drop in atmospheric pressure."
This video showed traffic on Hwy. 405 through West Los Angeles:
Please be safe this week, dear readers.

Thanksgiving traffic
Traffic has been in the news lately; specifically, the anticipated traffic as people travel to celebrate Thanksgiving with distant friends and family. This is a Drudge screenshot from this morning:
A couple years ago, I put up a post about Thanksgiving traffic with a jam on LA's 405 freeway dubbed "America's worst traffic jam."
It seems this horrific traffic jam is nothing new, since similar conditions are being covered this year as well.
From the video shot two years ago, it started out bad enough:
Then it panned back and got even worse:
And even worse:
"It's like the red and white blood cells flowing through the major arteries of the city," wrote one person. "Pretty, [but] wouldn't want to be in it."
This is a level of gridlock unfathomable in this area. To all my dear readers in Southern California, please be safe this holiday.

America's worst traffic jam?
Some startling footage emerged yesterday from a news helicopter covering traffic in Los Angeles: what might possibly be the worst traffic jam in America.
According to the article, "If these motorists thought setting off early would help them beat the Thanksgiving getaway rush, it appears a few others had the same idea. ... The news channel’s helicopter captured the 'complete gridlock' on the 405 motorway, one of the busiest and most congested routes in the United States."
The short video embedded in the article starts out bad enough:
Then it pans back and gets even worse:
And even worse:
"It's like the red and white blood cells flowing through the major arteries of the city," wrote on person. "Pretty, [but] wouldn't want to be in it."
