Here's a fascinating photo compilation that shows the Northern Hemisphere during the grip of the massive blizzard that moved across the U.S. Can you find where you live?
It's a grim reminder of how bad global warming has become.

Building an igloo is now a "radical right-wing" prank

So it seems someone decided to poke fun at all the "global warming" that's been hitting the Washington D.C. area lately.
In the wake of a second massive blizzard to hit the region, the family of Senator Jim Inhofe (R-Okla.) built an igloo near the U.S. Capital building, photos of which the Senator posted on his Facebook page along with signs saying “AL GORE’S NEW HOME!” and “HONK IF YOU (LOVE) GLOBAL WARMING.”
Naturally, the humorless Left couldn't stand to see anything so...so radical as (gasp) building an igloo. Brad Johnson, who blogs for the liberal Center American Progress, criticized the prank and tagged it in the category of “Radical Right-Wing Agenda.”
Apparently Mr. Johnson considers it much more evil to build an (environmentally green) igloo and post a couple signs, than to build an enormous home in Tennessee that uses nearly twenty times as much energy as the average American household (Al Gore's home).
The Left had better be careful how much it criticizes igloos. If they have their way, snow structures will be the Homes of the Future for millions of impoverished citizens who live in the north.

Oh for pete's sake - where's the global warming?
This is what the weather looked like yesterday:

What you can't see is the freezing wind that was blowing. When I went to get Matilda for milking, I wore boots, hat, scarf, gloves, and winter coat. I might add....this was the second day of summer.
Here's what the thermometer read this morning, the third day of summer:

We had to put an extra heat lamp in the chicken coop to keep the chicks from freezing their newly-sprouted tail feathers off. The coop is still just an unfinished (and uninsulated) shell.
Tomorrow the temp is supposed to get up to 84 degrees. Go figure.
Meanwhile, here's what the weather in the rest of the country looked like this morning:

All the peach and dark purple colored areas are suffering from excessive heat. Go figure.
These global warming people don't know what the hell they're talking about. It may be hot in some places (doubtless where they're measuring), but it's cold in other places (doubtless where they refuse to measure). HellOOOO?

Aaarrgghh! Global warming is affecting Jupiter!
Yes it's true. Jupiter's massive red spot is shrinking. I'm awaiting with breathless anticipation to hear Al Gore's announcement that unless we all switch to hybrid cars, Jupiter will continue to be affected thanks to our evil capitalistic ways.

Cold enough to freeze the anatomy off a brass monkey
This was the temperature yesterday morning, March 11:

This is me freezing my anatomy while milking Matilda's anatomy:

Not a happy combination. Ice cream, anyone?
Fortunately it's a balmy -2 this morning.
These temperatures are, like, seriously low for this time of year. Damn, where's that global warming when we need it?
