**Sniff**

I know Lydia, our Great Pyrenees, goes into a depression when any one of us is gone for a few days. When we return, it's like we're back from the dead and she's ecstatic.

Apparently she's not alone. Here's a (sniff) heartwarming video clip of a dog's reaction upon seeing her "mom" who was away for a year in Afghanistan.

  1. Well, that will help clear out the sinuses after my bout with influenza - pass the tissues!

I'm a professional pet sitter and had the privilege of caring for a number of animals belonging to Marine families while loved ones were deployed. One father was in Fallujah when the bad stuff went down. A big man - over 6' tall. When he returned, his Coon Hound (all their animals were rescues - seems to be a Marine officer requirement!) literally leaped in joy, back and forth over this kneeling man over and over again, crying and baying all the while.

  4. I have two dawgs that act just as bad, if not worse. They will knock my son down only times he comes to visit. When we came home after our trip to Idaho it took an hour to calm them down.

  6. When my father came home from deployment our Labradore Retriever nearly wrecked the place. He ran, and leaped, and barked, and twirled in celebration until we were all exhausted just watching him. For a week he cried that high-pitched keen every time Dad left his sight, even just to check the mail.
