I logged onto the weather this evening and saw this angry red stripe across the country:

Stay warm and dry, everyone.........

  1. Give me some of that good stormy weather. I am so tired of the boring same old tame weather here... in Alaska!

  3. The planet is warming...just not the U.S. Hey, whatever happened to that Al Gore fella? How strangely silent and unseen he's been of late...

  4. Goodness. We were just in Oklahoma. I'm glad we left before this arrived!

  5. I would be thrilled to have some of that "boring" weather about now CarolG. Normal Feb. temps. would be a royal treat. It's not happening for at least two more weeks if you believe what the experts are saying.

  6. Here in Pennsylvania, we've got our fingers crossed hoping Punxsutawney Phil has some good news for us tomorrow and doesn't see his shadow.
I just hope the bad weather doesn't wreck his party and keep the crowds away.
It's no fun to party and polka alone :-)

  7. Make sure somebody has a camera rolling Granny Miller. You can party anyway but if somebody is really going over the top maybe we could all enjoy it on Americas Funniest Videos.

  8. I( am SO Glad I left Kansas for Sacramento 5 years ago. My friends in Manhattan are at a balmy 4 degrees with a wind chill of 15 below. While I am shivering at 35 degrees here in Sacramnto. I almost feel decadent.

Well I'm in Okla. and in the blizzard. It's not that bad if you stay home inside. I feel sorry for any livestock or stray animals. We are not use to this kind of weather. God bless the animals! (My six rescues are asleep on the human beds!)

Now here is the crazy part: three days ago it was 70 degrees and sunny with light winds.

After the current snowfall melts, we will still register below normal precipitation. Oklahoma needs significantly more moisture...and soon.

  10. Greetings from Kansas City (a.k.a Blizzard Central)! It's snowing like crazy here with winds about 40 mph. Gonna have some great sledding later today once it stops. In the meantime, we're keeping warm with homemade donuts and cocoa. Stay safe everyone!

  11. I am in Illinois one county below the blizzard warning. Do you think the blizzard will respect the county line? LOL So far, it is sleeting a lot and freezing rain but I still have electricity. Woo hoo! Taking photos as this storm progresses.

  12. This AM in CO it was -4 outside, but has now heated up to 2. Tonight it is predicted to reach -14. My wife just called and said she decided to fire up the wood stove (our main heat is natural gas), and it was now 81 in that end of the house :>) I thank God for multiple ways to heat our house!

  13. Current temp in Amarillo TX is 9 degrees. I have not been brave enough to check the wind chill although my husband said it was -24 this morning. Really not too bad if you can stay inside. After the children finished school this morning we sat down and watched The Waltons and now they are playing Little Big Planet 2. I knew video games would be good for something!

  14. We have some of the best electrical service any where. I just spent a forth of my day in off and on again blackouts. (Mostly off) This is unusual because it just doesn't happen around here. It was bitter cold here when that happened. The electrical workers did a great job but it makes you think. What will I do if things last longer than 6 hrs? To anyone out there who cares, you might want to rethink how unconfortable this could get. It is beyound serious.

  15. Amarillo by morning. Sorry George Straight. I love that song and your town. I never went into Amarillo I just kind of passed by on the outskirts. I did see the cops of Amarillo on T. V. Several times. Don't mess with TEXAS !

  17. I am so jealous of you people in the Midwest - would love to have a good snowstorm before spring comes. Have enjoyed watching the Weather Channel from Chicago.

  19. Patrice, we're socked in here in the country east of Oklahoma City and it feels good! Have been stuck in the house since Monday afternoon, but there's lots to do, plenty to eat and we do have electricity! Yay! I was sure that would be out because we got 3 hours of ice before the blizzard set in. If you want to see pictures, just go to my blog by clicking on my name. It's really beautiful here after 13 or 14 inches of snow. But Tulsa...oh my. They got 21 inches!! It's a record I think. Thanks for the thoughts for everybody in the Midwest.

Many California Conservatives (myself included) already consider Sacremento the center of Satan's playground. That's where the state's legislature and governor gather and they are definitely wicked.
