Husband of the Boss

Hey, look over to the right-hand side of my blog! See the notice that says "Husband of the Boss"? That's my husband. (Shhhh, he's actually the boss but don't tell him I said so.)

Anyway, some of you may know that my husband is a very talented writer of political humor/satire. He's decided to piggyback on this blog and write some stuff of his own. Take a look and let him know what you think!

  1. Hmmm, after reading Don's blog I can see where deeming things to be true could be quite enjoyable. So, I've got a few things I'd like to deem into the record as well.

I deem I am 24 years old and weight 110lb. These new facts will be henceforth reflected on my driver's license.

I deem that Congress shall be adjourned until furhter notice, as in when 535 HONEST & HUMBLE men and women can be found to fill the seats.

Yep, this deeming stuff is fun. Don, thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Loved the Barney joke in the cartoon, too.

  2. Hey AT , for what it's worth I second what you deem. Oh wait, we no longer need parliamentary rules do we? Love this stuff. It makes my life SOOOOO much easier. Why didn't we think of it sooner ?( must be our sun scorched brains from working hard outside are some how damaged in that respect or we qualify for one of those 535 spots you're looking to fill) I vote the latter.

Thanks for the morning chuckle Don.

  3. Don, here in upstate NY our very own louise slaughter was instrumental in bringing 'deemed' to the fore front; She is loathed by anyone here who has more than half a brain and is paying attention (Rochester has a huge contingent of welfare sponges)

On a brighter note, sitting around a camp fire with my son and two of his friends recently (freshly minted from the public school system here in Brockport) was like shelling peanuts and burning marshmallows with Rush, Beck and Vanderboegh! The political savvy, and intelligent conversation of the teenagers was awe inspiring, and brought a tear to my eye! They know the score.

Take two aspirin and keep moving forward, there is hope...

Brought to you by the guy that thinks oven mitts would make great a$$rags, Tina's husband.

  7. I can really get behind this...let's see, I deem that I am once again a natural blonde, that I weigh only 140 lbs., can lift same, can run an eight minute mile, and that my mortgage and student loans are now paid in full.

    Ha! That's fun!

P.S. unfortunately, the circumstances leading up to this hilarity are not so fun.

  8. Oh, and one more - I deem that the National Endowment for the Arts is unconstitutional, that all funds given to same by the Federal Government be forthwith returned to the taxpayers, individual amounts to be determined by each taxpayer's current tax rate, and that every piece of so-called "art" paid for with said funds be sent to where it can be best appreciated - the local dump.

  9. Don is much welcomed. Conservative, sensible Americans can always use another wise, honest and knowledgable voice crying out in the wilderness!

  11. Ha! Excellent job! I wanna deem something. It's much better than having a genie, you are not limited to 3 deems!

Here I go! Um... I... uhhh... well guess I need more practice. Maybe watching the Deemacrats will help me get started!
