Under the wire

So yesterday Don and I went into town on a short errand. We passed the gas station where we normally gas up, and I noted the price: $3.38/gallon. We agreed we would do our errand, top off the tank, and head home.

Our errand took maybe ten minutes. Then we turned the corner into the gas station and saw this:

Fortunately the pumps hadn't been changed yet so our gas still cost $3.38/gallon.

Getting interesting...

  1. I WISH ours was that price...in SW Washington State, gas this AM was $3.63. A couple of weeks ago, gas went up $.10 in ONE NIGHT! You are right...it's getting interesting, for sure!

  2. I live outside Sacramento about 25 miles and we paid $3.77 a gallon at our Sam's but just about every other place is at $3.85+
I'm lucky I work near where I live and my round trip for work is about 10 miles and we can walk to our local stores that are within a mile of our house. This is not a big city we are a little bit rual.

  4. Cheapest Gas in davis CA right now ys 3.87. I love what the unrest around the world and the other Shake ups are having on our energy costs. And with the economy so many public transportation options are becoming non-options because the funding gets cut. And I live 10 miles from work (5 round trips a errk) and 12 miles from school (3 a week) Frustration runs high but there is no way I could move to the country ans endeavor to be self sufficient much as the idea appeals to me.

that is up over 60 cents/gal in the last months

we have a large Dodge Ram and Durango and paying for gas is starting to hurt. BUT hubby man is 6'9 and doesn't fit into more gas effeciant transportation nor could he get his tools and supplies for our electrical company in one.

  6. Gas was $3.92 here last week, I paid $42.00 to fill my little Toyota. Oh, Obama was caught on tape saying he wants Europe gas prices here. I think we're in trouble.

  8. Gas is up to $3.51 in NC, intresting tidbit, I decided to order more wheat berries this week, they are on backorder 3 to 4 weeks. Hit our BJ's (Sam's club, Costco deal) yesterday for more sugar and rice, they were down to 4 (25) pounds of rice, I ask when they would get in more, they had just put out the last pallet that morning, decided to only take 2, left some for another family

  10. My husband filled up his work truck today at $4.09 a gallon. He's only allowed to fill up at certain 'name-brand' stations. Average cheap station price here is $3.85. We are in Central CA, South Valley.

  11. Paid $3.15 this morning here in Tucson, but that's with a 15 cent per gallon discount for using the store's credit card. Not sure what the local average is or what the local Costco is getting.

Round-trip from Tucson to Houston was $3.25 the whole way, but that was three weeks ago now.

  12. I'd love to by paying $3.38 right now. On the way to church last Sum AM, it was $3.66, on the way home it was $3.74. A very large portion of the cost is in taxes. Washington has to tax the snot out of everything because the voters won't allow the politicians to bring about an income tax.

Or maybe the government in WA. could stop spending so much and let people keep more of their own money. Crazy I know.
