Snark du jour

Before I head to the city for the day, I thought I'd leave you with a recent comment:

I honestly have no idea why I subscribed to this blog. I'm guessing there was one interesting post, I guess that was a fluke.

  1. No one knows better than you, dear Patrice, that you can't please everyone. Your sound logic and extremely good sense is wasted on liberal progressives. They listen to the blaring liars and ignore the quieter, more sensible, honest people like yourself. I guess we really shouldn't blame them, though. They've been conditioned all their lives to think and act that way. They won't listen to reason, never considering that they and the ones they follow might be wrong! The socialist, progressive liars of the world have done their job of brainwashing the masses quite well, unfortunately. Calling these poor deluded folks names such as "snark," even jokingly, does no good, either. By doing this, we lower ourselves to their level and make them feel they've won another round against us conservative "kooks." Their goal is to annoy and agitate as much as possible anyone who hasn't been sucked in by the liberal liars of the world. I refuse to even consider them anymore. I ignore them, the way I would any spoiled, arrogant and demanding brats! You should, too.

  2. Aren't people lovely?!?! I can honestly say...for me...I check your blog each morning before I check my emails. LOL. Patrice, you have inspired me to start my own little blog sharing the adventures of my (soon to be) husband and me "makin' a go" of the self sufficient life.

I LOVE YOUR BLOG! Oh...I just had an idea for a home business...I wonder if I can develope a "Snark Trap"...hmm...I'll think on that. :)

  3. Hi Patrice, fear not these people are their own worst enemy. Above all they want their lives to MATTER, they want their opinion to be important. The ego drives people to do something, anything, to show they themselves are, well, better. Poor sods. Leave them to their devious methods to have their 15 minutes of fame, they'll either wake up... or not.

  4. A word of warning to Cass @ 7:45am:

Do NOT attempt to trap a snark. If you do, they'll look sorrta cute and you'll be tempted to hold one. As you stroke the soft outer fur, you'll cut your fingers on the undercoat of barbs and zingers. This creates a nasty wound; imagine your worst paper cut x10 and you've just spilled lemon juice on your hands.

However, the hide removes quite easily as they are very thinned skinned. Heck, you can probably scrape it away with a butter knife. But don't think of boiling them either; they taste horrible that way. Instead, I suggest you throw them on the grill, and, while wearing heavy gloves, rub them vigorously over the grating and clean the grill from the last cookout. Afterwards discard the carcass in the compost heap.

    The more you know....

    Hi Patrice

Wow! Did you know there a "trolls" that visit ALL
consertive, family oriented sites? They are paid to do it, trying to inject their liberal ideas and hoping that if they can disrupt your message, people will stop viewing. Boy, are they so wrong! Liberals are getting scared, very scared, knowing they are losing.
Don't ever let these pathetic slugs stop you from writing. There are lot more of us than there are of them.
Your blog is a breath of fresh air that gives me hope for our country.
    You go, girl!!

  6. You know... I've spent days reading your entire blog. We don't agree on everything. Our politics are a little different, but you have SO much good information on your blog. You have inspired me to try to grow a garden and can next year (we are trying to buy a house right now. Where we rent doesn't have a big enough yard to do anything) :)
I don't understand why people have to be so snarky. I've started to follow blogs before and realized that they weren't for me so I just quietly stop following that blog. All I can think of when I see comments like that is, "Look at me! Look at me!" like my five year old son says lol.

  8. Jeez. If you don't like a blog anymore, how hard is it to just quietly unsubscribe? This is the virtual equivalent of slamming a door and storming off to go sulk.

  9. I, too, read your blog every day when I can. I wonder which post brought them on board? I can't think of any posts that don't flow with the rest. If one attracts, then the others should also. ::shrugs::

    :)

  10. What a mean spirited person. How sad to be someone that goes through life feeling the need to impart their ugly and hurtful opinions for no other reason than to be ugly and hurtful.

I too love your blog and check it several times a day, please keep up the great work!

  11. I guess some people have no class. You have also inspired me to start my own blog so I would say that you are doing something right! I appreciate your candor and honesty in your posts so please keep posting them. Thanks!

  12. Funny. I enjoy reading and gaining from homesteading experiences I've never had.

It must have been the bacon canning posts that drew them in.

  14. Considering your masthead, what was this person ever expecting in the first place?

In my arrogant opinion (I have no humble opinions.) I would say that the "fluke" would be the occassional bad post.

BTW, I haven't seen it yet.

  15. Well. I guess he/she/it told YOU, didn't they?

    One question: did they unsubscribe?

  16. Do you know what you get when you cross a pig with a troll?......Well no one knows, there are things even pigs wont do. Just ignore em. The snarkier the post the more of a back handed complement.

  19. Interesting, you know my grandmother would say " If you are bored then you are a boring person". So I guess that persons lack of interest means they are not interesting! Snicker snicker

  20. Yeah, it wouldn't have cost the reader anything to simply leave if your choice of subject matter doesn't interest them. Takes all kinds, I guess. . .

For what it's worth, my first Internet stop in the a.m. used to be Vox Day. Now it's 50/50 Vox Day and Patrice.
