Photos of a fawn

It's time for some serious "awwwww" factor.

Last week Older Daughter and I were driving home when we came across the cutest durn sight anyone can ever see in the spring: a doe and her newborn fawn.

Take a look at this lady's udder!

Presumably this is a first-time mother, since they usually have single fawns. Thereafter twins are the norm.

All together now: "Awwwwww!!!"

  2. Very cute! I have never seen a deer udder...wow! We've had MANY deer on our place, but never one with a fawn that small. How cute!!!

  3. This makes me look forward to berry season. Our deer sometimes like to follow me and graze along nearby as I pick.

It makes me feel really blessed to be accepted by the mama deer and the fawns as a 'safe critter.'
(And it's a good safety element, too. They help keep a sharp eyes and ear out for mountain lions and bears....but especially for the ever-present mountain lions.)

  4. LOL - easiest place to find deer is within town limits of an east coast town. Hunting is not allowed within city limits, so they often have to secretely hire people to get rid of them.
