Eerie cartoon

Hard to believe this cartoon was made in 1948. Watch it and weep.

Remember - this was made in 1948!!

  1. Patrice, I often agree with you but sometimes you can be quite mean spirited. I believe from your writings you are a Christian. You can tell the truth without being offensive. You can tell the truth without backing down and still put forth love as a motive. God wants to use you greatly. And He wants you to keep telling the truth. We are all being manipulated by lies in media and government. When truth is presented in a way that is mean spirited it appears an attempt to manipulate as well. This cheapens your message. I would have sent you an email because I do not think it is good to put this out there for everyone to see. My hope is to help a sister in Christ. So please delete it after you read it. Angela

  2. I'm sorry, Angela, but I'm trying to figure out what it is about my posting this 1948 cartoon that you found mean-spirited and un-Christian. Can you elucidate?

    Thanks,
    Patrice

  3. I stumbled across your blog today. Great stuff. I sent the link to my wife. The economic troubles we face today are in many ways the same as the 1930's. Recently, I've read two books penned by Samuel B. Pettengill (D-IN '31-'39), Smoke-Screen (1940)and Jefferson The Forgotten Man (1938). Both were excellent and could have been written this year. The forces of socialism have been on the march in the USA since the early 20th century. So, this cartoon is still relevant as we are locked in the same struggle. You may also want to look at some of the words of Sen. William Jenner (R-IN). He retired from the Senate in 1959. They have a very prophetic ring to them.
    Best Wishes,
    Jim

What on earth are you talking about?

  6. i remember this cartoon from my childhood days..no matter what you do or say there is always gonna be the one person who gets offended....usually the reason being is that they are in their own little world and have no real knowledge of what is going on around them...but when the you know what hits the fan they are the first one knocking on your door wanting to know what to do.

  7. I have seen this cartoon about 3 times via e-mail lately. It is amazing that it was taped in 1948 and is so pertinent today. I do not believe you were mean spirited for posting. Anyone that has their eyes open has to realize its revelancy. It is sad that I and many others had our heads in the sand for so many years, feeling that our government was doing what they were supposed to be doing.....not realizing what they were doing to us. Being politically correct, when we should have been the ones speaking out. Not anymore! I speak out wherever and whenever I can against the atrocities that are being performed.
