Chuckle du jour

A friend sent this to me:

I'll pause while everyone rushes for their Bibles...

Me, I prefer Psalm 33:12, though I fear we're a long way from that right now.

  1. All of my liberal friends are absolutely livid about those "horrible Christians who are praying for the President's death." I've exhausted my capacity for explaining that it is a JOKE, and that no one is actually wanting harm to come to the President. I do think it's crass, particularly if you read the next verse (though I realize that v.9 isn't meant to be included in the "joke"). I wasn't the biggest Bush fan, but when people made similar jokes about him, I always cringed. The thing is that many liberals believe that Bible-reading, fundamentalist Christians are narrow-minded, hateful bigots. This sort of thing--even though it's meant as a joke--fuels *their* hatred for us. (Though if not this, they'd find something else!) I'm with you, Patrice--Ps.33:12 is a much better route to take, along with
    2 Chronicles 7:14.

  2. I love it! Where do I get one of those?
