Back to school

On Monday night we picked up our friend GG from the airport. GG is sixteen years old and is attending a Catholic boarding school in the region. Recently her parents were required to transfer all the way across the country, so GG is far away from home. We're glad to be so close to her! We've known GG since she was two, so we're her home away from home during the school year.

The campus is fairly new but looks old and established. It's beautiful and peaceful.

Here's GG's new dorm room. She was the first to arrive.

I wanted to see the inside of the chapel, which has some magnificent stained glass windows...

...but there were some nuns at prayer, so we didn't disturb them.

It's not often you find posted instructions and a dress code for a church! (Click to enlarge.)

Here's GG's classroom. The Sister is still getting things ready for the students.

We wished we could have had GG with us for a few days, but no such luck. However we'll be picking her up for a weekend with us in a couple weeks.

  2. Hm. They actually have dress standards. Must be Latin Rite.
