Calmness in our lives

A friend sent this.

I am passing this on to you because it definitely works, and we could all use a little more calmness in our lives. By following simple advice heard on the Dr. Phil show, you too can find inner peace. Dr Phil proclaimed, "The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started and have never finished."

So, I looked around my house to see all the things I started and hadn't finished, and before leaving the house this morning, I finished off a bottle of White Zinfandel, a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream, a package of Oreos, the remainder of my old Prozac prescription, the rest of the cheesecake, some Doritos, and a box of chocolates, and a half bottle of scotch.

You have no idea how freaking good I feel right now.

Pass this on to those whom you think might be in need of inner peace.

  2. Somebody sent me the same email a few days ago. I don't know why it was sent to me, I did all my Christmas shopping online for the first time in my life. It was marvelous! Good deals, free shipping, and delivered right to my front door. No crowds, nobody sneezing on me, and no traffic jams. Yep, I'm as calm as can be.

As for Dr. Phil and his advice, put a sock in it Phil. You're TV mentor (Oprah) hasn't invited you to her new newtwork, has she? Get a clue, Doc, your advice is lame.

  3. Thank you for the deep belly laugh. After the last few weeks at work (student teaching)...I NEEDED it. While I don't really drink that much, I think I can go finish the bottle of wine in the fridge, and the fudge I made for my Secret Santa party at work (real job I'm on leave from). See, I'm no quitter either, I will not leave things unfinished LOL.

  4. Oh, my! They need to shovel that roof before it collapses...LOL

That was quite a finishing session, no doubt you feel good after all that!....but, I'm sorry Dr. Phil, that isn't what it takes to have inner peace; all it takes is living your life the way you want to and ignoring those who think they have a better idea of how you should live your life and find inner peace.....

  10. Sooooo funny!

An.Pat.~~I did all of my shopping online, too. For eight children, six nephews/nieces, a granddaughter and a husband, I was able to accomplish almost all of it in just one day, including buying green velvet Christmas dresses for the girls off of eBay. Isn't it wonderful to cross all of those gifts off of your list and still have a life left over? Amazon Prime forever!! And a special thanks to our delivery guys Vince and Paul, who brave a lot of mud and muck to make sure we get our packages.
