We've been working super-dooper hard lately (up til midnight last night!) getting stock ready for my annual trip to Portland.
This is a large and profitable selling venue for us, so we've been assembling a stock of about 200 pieces.
Yesterday evening (and this morning) we had an all-hands-on-deck work party and got the production run coated. Twice.
Naturally this means the house gets trashed, but such is life.
I'll be leaving ungodly early Wednesday morning, hopefully around 4 am. This will put me in Portland in the early afternoon, giving me enough time to set up my booth, hopefully have dinner with some old friends from college, and relax with my buddies Wendy and Tim. This is my annual busman's holiday, and I look forward to it every year (including my personal indulgence, visiting Powell's Bookstore!).
Enjoy your time in Portland, I hope you sell out all of your beautiful tankards!
ReplyDeletei am up to my ears with producing a tutorial and quilt for demonstrating my methods at a store this saturday...so, i have a real good idea about the amount of work you are having to do with you home business...aint it great!!! we sure would not be doing what we do if we did not love it! :)
ReplyDeleteYour tankards are terrific, Patrice. I love the one my daughter gave me last Christmas! I'm praying in Jesus' name that you have a safe trip and do REALLY well selling your tankards! --Fred in AZ
ReplyDeleteEverything looks great. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteWhere in Portland will you be? I would LOVE to come by, shake your hand and say hi.
ReplyDeleteWell, um, I'm being deliberately vague about where I'll be only because I'll be so durn busy I won't have a chance to visit. I'll barely have time to sit down for four days. Sorry!

Hope my daughter gets to stop by your booth this year-sure wish I could be there at the same time you are. And I,too, love Powell's-visited for the first time last Oct. I would have liked it even better if they had your book in stock.(which, by the way, I told them!) Hopefully, by now, they have gotten it on their shelves:) Blessings on your booth-will be praying for great weather, great crowds and great sales!

Patrice,
ReplyDeleteI don't know why you're spending all this time and energy on the show. You should just turn all the work over to those other people who - according to our president - are responsible for the success of your business.
I apologize for the snark, but it is SO fitting.
ROFLOL!!!! You're so right! I should just be sitting at home with folded hands, waiting for the money to roll in! Silly me.

The weather is wonderful in Portland today. You might need a light sweater at night. Have fun in Powells, my idea of adult Disneyland.
