"Twin beacons of faith and freedom..."

Here's an interesting video clip I came across. It shows Ronald Reagan's Christmas (not "holiday," Christmas) address in 1981. Oh my goodness, can you imagine ANY president being able to get away with saying this stuff nowadays? Not that our current president would get anywhere close...

  1. It makes me just want to cry, grieving over what this country has lost.

One of the YouTube comments was particularly poignant:

"There isn't a measurement known to mankind that is big enough to describe how much better Ronald Reagan was than our president now is."

I couldn't have said it any better.

  2. Ronald Reagan was truly a great president. I don't see another Reagan anywhere around, which is very sad and very scary. Prep, people, prep - we're being sold down the river by the current administration. Heck, Congressmen were told not to wish Merry Christmas in their letters to constituents. How low have we sunk? Truly sad and scary.

  3. I just shared this message with my family. How far we've come in 30 years in the name of "progress and political correctness."

    God bless us all.

    Merry Christmas!

  4. Are people naive enough to think the way Christmas is talked about today was brought on by Obama......? I noticed a few other admistrations that were careful about how they spoke about Christmas in the not so distant past. This is a society problem...not an Obama problem. We need to stop playing the blame game. Happy Holidays......

  5. You might want to watch the Christmas address from the Obamas, which has every bit as much "Christmas" as this Reagan video. The White House has so many Christmas trees it looks like a holiday special of the the show "Hoarders." Some of us miss Christmas before it was claimed by rageaholics.
