Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.

I "found" this Proverb today and have been trying to think of something clever and meaningful to frame it. However it's been a long day in the city doing errands and attending kids' lessons and I can't think of anything suitable, so I'll just let it stand in solitary splendor.

  1. This was one of the first Bible verses I ever learned. When I was baptized (in my mid-twenties) one of my Pastor's children hand wrote the verse on a piece of paper and framed it with pressed flowers underneath it. I am now in my mid-fifties and that same little picture frame is in my living room. Whenever I feel overwhelmed with a situation, this is the first verse that pops into my head. Merry Christmas to you and your family.

  2. when I was little I had a plaque with these verses on my wall. I must have read it thousands of times (and thus memorized it). I wonder where that plaque came from, and where it went to?
    The other "verse" hung in the bathroom, a funny old cross stitch design. It hangs in my bathroom now, more than 50 years later. It says (also memorized, which means possibly I should have concentrated on more Godly pursuits): "Who waits outside the door, One may never know, So tarry not my friend, He too may have to go."
    I hope the first verses formed more of my life desires than the latter.

  3. This is one of my favorites. When I get pig headed (which happens way to often) I go to this verse to remind me that God's will is not necessarily mine but if I submit to his will rather than trying to force mine all will be right in the end.
    God Bless you and yours

  4. I love this verse! If I had to choose one verse to instruct someone how to live their life, this would be it.....what more do we need?
