Bacon and Eggs blog

A reader just reported the sad news that Jodi ("SciFiChick") of the Bacon and Eggs blog passed away last Thursday of an apparent heart attack.

I never knew Jodi in person, but her gardening skills and ability in the domestic arts were staggering and an inspiration to many. Franboise Manor blog has a beautiful tribute to her, as does A Homestead Neophyte blog.

May you rest in peace, Jodi, and thank you for all the humor, wisdom, and know-how.

  2. Patrice - thank you for alerting your readers about the great loss we are all feeling. Phelan, Sci, a few others and i go way back. Phelan dropped everything when she got the text and drove into town to tell me in person - she didn't want me to find out through a blog post or facebook (i don't do facebook), but i had already seen a post about Sci only minutes before her call. that is a good friend right there.

Sci had tons of readers, many commenters and many friends. but she also had readers that didn't leave comments or share phone calls or email. ALL of us, all of her readers, all of her friends - we have all just lost a wonderful, kind, information-sharing doll. we all will miss her!

    thank you again.

  7. Sci was so filled with enthusiasm, common sense and simple humor that she will be sadly missed by all who "knew" her. I hve known her since she started her preparedness journey and her accomplishments are a testimony to her and her husband. My thoughts and prayers go out to her family, may she rest in peace.
