If that's a wool rug, check out Granny Miller's remedy for cleaning in the snow :)
Yet another reason why we keep our dog food and chicken food in galvanized trash cans. Also, keeps water and mice out of the food.
And if you happen to forget the kitty litter out in the rain-you can count on it turning to cement. Unfortunately I have had both experiences.

If the movers somehow unpack a huge box of FAB (in 1975) and leave it on a wet porch the bottom will fall out on the brand new carpet, and the guy will keep walking through the house in order to cover more carpet. Yet, he passed by the laundry room as he stepped into the house. ???
And the dogs were thinking "Oh Happy Day"!!!!!
This happens to bags of chicken feed as well. Had my chicks free ranging for a few days as to not totally waste what could not be picked up. By the way, I just happened to your blog, by way of a canning page. So glad I dropped in. Have a fabulous week!
Better dog food than a cat litter box...*hugs* ;o)
