Her name is Lucy

Thank you for all the wonderful name suggestions for our new little heifer! We've decided to call her Lucy since, of course, she has red hair.

We couldn't call her Rosy since we had a red calf born last year that has that name.

I'm holding the rest of all your nifty name suggestions in reserve for the next red calf we have born. With a red bull, we're likely to have quite a few!

  1. Perfect name for a perfectly sweet little kine girl.

Penny for your thoughts, Miss Lucy! (Great photo, Patrice. If you never wrote a lick on this blog I'd still keep it as my home page for your photography alone.)

    Congrats again, Lewis Family.

  2. is she 100% red? there is a Bible prophecy about a red heifer. I don't know all the particulars, but there is some web sites about it. Check it out BEFORE you dehorn! Maybe it could help pay the bills!
“This is the statute of the law that the Lord has commanded: Tell the people of Israel to bring you a red heifer without defect, in which there is no blemish, and on which a yoke has never come.” (Numbers 19:2)

  3. Next male is named Ricky - if raven haired? B-)

  4. I thought Red Bull gave you wings, not red calves!
