In-your-face stuff from an opinionated
rural north Idaho housewife.
Awwww.... LOVE the pics! Smoky looks so content.I just adore chickens. Mine are just pets but each one is very special - even Charlie, my bossy rooster is cute (sometimes).
Awww, this pleases me greatly. Thanks for updating us!
Aww thanksFor the pictures! :)
hehehe...Smokey and the bandits...that is too cute :P
Awww, I am sooooo glad you gave thkse new hatchlings to Smokey to raise! How sweet! She looks like she NEEDED to be a mommy!
Smokey is worth her weight in gold. I have barred rocks that want nothing to do with being broody. I thought I had one that was going broody but she didn't last. Guess I will have to go the incubator route. I hope they are grow up to be good layers for you.
My white rocks aren't a bit broody, either. Luckily, I have lots of bantam hens that ARE. Bantams have raised many a brood of incubator and orphaned chicks!
I had to laugh at "Smokey and the Bandits." When our goat Goldie had quads, we called them "Goldie and the Nuggets." Sounds like a Vegas act....
