Awwww.... LOVE the pics! Smoky looks so content. I just adore chickens. Mine are just pets but each one is very special - even Charlie, my bossy rooster is cute (sometimes).
Smokey is worth her weight in gold. I have barred rocks that want nothing to do with being broody. I thought I had one that was going broody but she didn't last. Guess I will have to go the incubator route. I hope they are grow up to be good layers for you.
My white rocks aren't a bit broody, either. Luckily, I have lots of bantam hens that ARE. Bantams have raised many a brood of incubator and orphaned chicks!

ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at "Smokey and the Bandits." When our goat Goldie had quads, we called them "Goldie and the Nuggets." Sounds like a Vegas act....
