Friday the 13th sale!

Readers have reported that Tattler Reusable Canning Lids is having a Friday the 13th sale -- an astounding 50% off your order. Yikes. Hard to beat that.

I'm an enormous fan of Tattler lids and no longer use disposable lids at all, so if you've been curious to try them, now's a good time.

I just spoke to Brad Stieg at Tattler to confirm the sale (he said the phones are ringing off the hook!). He said that to get the discount, enter the coupon code "Madness" during checkout, and the code will apply the discount.

  1. I ordered a bunch of lids right after midnight as did a bunch of my friends and relatives, and about an hour ago got an email saying they are sold out of certain packages so they are refunding my money. Some of my friends got the same message. Needless to say I'm pretty upset about it, especially since my order was placed right after the sale began and I have purchased lids numerous times from them. Really makes me question if I will do business with them again :( Sad because they make a great product, just wish they would honor their sales, since when they originally posted about it on facebook they said all sales would be honored, but then later deleted the post.

    1. Dear Anonymous,

We are not sold out of any product, and we have not sent any e-mail notification of that sort to any customers. Perhaps you have us confused with a different internet seller of our products, but I assure you, we are not sold out of any products or refunding anyone's money as a result.

  7. Do you ever have problems with the tattlers failing when canning pinto beans? I do. And the ones that seal, the pintos turn brownish about an inch down from top. Also, have to be careful when canning peaches .. so as not to use a previously used lid from salsa. I've returned to using disposable lids for some things.

    1. I have had failures with all kinds of foods with Tattlers but especially pressure canned ones. So frustrating. I wish on one of their helpful videos they would show the process of tightening the boiling hot rings on fresh out of the scanner green beans! They just magically show the food going in, coming out and all sealed, at the end. I know Rural Revolution and Jackie Clay like Tattlers, I just feel like I'm missing out on the secret to success with them!

  8. Dang, I missed it. I figured it would last until midnight of the 13th and gave it a try but received the message they are no longer honoring the code. It would have been a good deal to get in on.

  9. I Tried to order 24 dozen widemouth lids and rings but, the response (and screen shot) I got was that madness was no longer being honored. I sent a message about what happened. I hope my first experience with tattler will turn out ok .

  10. I'm always interested in reading about Tattler. I see Patrice has fine luck with their lids. While I love the IDEA of them, I have to many failed seals to switch only to them. I do all meats and expensive foods with disposables . It's just to discouraging to have a quart of something not seal! I get the feeling I'm not alone on this. So, half price is definitely the most I'd want to pay.
