A million here, a billion there...

But what's a trillion?

We're hearing "illions" bandied about like Monopoly money lately. But what exactly IS a trillion dollars, anyway? And why should we care?

Because it's our great great great great great great great great great great great grandchildren who will still be paying it off, that's why.

Assuming the U.S. survives, of course.

For a knock-you-flat visual of a trillion dollars, check out this website.

  1. And the hits just keep on coming. We are nearly $2 Billion late in our payments to the UN. So now the Head of the UN is calling us a "deadbeat nation". We are having to borrow money to stay afloat. We are "gifting" future generations with this HUGE debt, and Hillary Clinton goes over and promises aide to rebuild the Gaza Strip to the tune of $900 Million. Barack Obama promised to stop spending money that we don't have. Sure would like to know when THAT is going to happen.

  2. We are in for a very rough 4 years. We really need to pray hard and stay awake to what is going on. Somehow we have gotten so spoiled and self-indulgent. We have a lot of work to do!

  3. I wonder if at some point people will start leaving the country.

In the last couple months I've been given a huge debt, one that I don't want, one that I don't think is fair, and one that I'm afraid will only get worse.

At some point I think people will move to another country. My problem is I can't find a better one.
