So what did you do on 2/22/22 2:22:22??

Many years ago, I posted a quasi-comical question: So what did you do on 11/11/11 11:11:11?? That's because it was November 11, 2011, a day full of "ones."

So here we are, eleven years later, and it's a day full of "twos." It's even "2sday."

We have no particular plans for this auspicious date except to hunker down indoors because we're in the midst of a brief cold snap. Don plans to make some sourdough bread. I'll make meatballs for dinner. We'll both work on writing projects.

It's times like this we're beyond grateful for our wood cookstove.

So what did you do on 2/22/22 2:22:22??

  3. Nothing spectacular here, going to work then headed home for the usual routine. Feeding the family and animals, homework, family time then bed. The kids' school celebrated the day but allowing the students to dress up.

  4. I grieved for Canada and Australia and for the U.S. as we are next in this war on freedom and the citizens.

  6. Semi-enjoying exceptionally warm weather before storms that's been going on most of the month here in the deep South. Seriously, it's hot in the house and windows are open. If it weren't for the breezes the AC would be on. Besides being comfortable though, a shoulder went out a week ago, and by trying to not sleep on it I've strained the old back from flipping at night. A lot needs doing but having to chill out on the floor. Did take a short walk because it does help, then back to floor.
It looks like the bad weather may miss me during the next 24 hours. We've had several small tornadoes hit the place the last few years, but only trees were hurt.
I've decided I want a smaller, at least partially underground house someday, on top of a hill. Fireproof, flood proof, tornado proof, and the way the weather's going down here, quake proof would be good too, just in case!

Southerners love the South. Even in cold weather, it warms up a few days enough for shorts and t-shirts, then goes back. All "winter" long almost every winter. But it brings tornadoes. And I've lost things planted too often in the past by late freezes, so while on the floor, I have all my new seed catalogs at hand. Seeds for this year have already been purchased, but am now thinking of future gardens and some for gifts.

So, unfortunately, it's a lazy day!
2/22 always makes me think of who is #1 and to thank Him for His many blessings!

  8. Our family attended a really nice wedding in a barn! The kids getting married wanted to tie the knot 2/22/2022 at 2:00! Coincidentally, it was -2 degrees out at the time. Those space heaters really came in handy! With all the trouble going on in the world, it was so nice to attend a joyous, God-centered wedding.

  10. Took an 88 yr old friend out for ice cream! It's our favorite spot, and the staff treat her like a QUEEN! Ice cream prices were up since last week! Then we went to visit her friends at the church office, and she (with walker standing by) performed a German October Fest song, followed by a brief but joyous Slap Dance (German style!) What a wonderful outing!

  11. It was my husband’s 50th birthday! We celebrated by going to dinner with a bunch of friends who had planned a surprise party for him. Everyone gave him $2 bills to signify 2/22/22 and one couple gave him 50 Sacajawea dollar coins for the “golden” birthday. I gave him 25 $2 bills. I was surprised when I stopped at a bank to see if they had any $2 bills, and the teller said ripped open a brand new package of $2 bills. He said they have them all the time. In fact, the bills my husband received, were all new, from different banks around the city.

  12. I read your post, Patrice, and told my husband we should do something. He said, "Let's wear tutus!" Sadly, we had none, so we just went out on the deck between hail and corn snow to appreciate the afternoon passing through an entirely numeric moment.

  13. Our eighth grandchild was born on that day! He will have fun with his birth date when he learns enough about numbers to appreciate it. :)
