That stubborn vacuum cleaner

Okay, this is totally sexist, but it had me howling. (Sent by reader Ken.)

A retired guy sits around the house all day, so one day his wife says, "Joe, you could do something useful, like vacuum the house once a week."

The guy gives it a moment's thought and says, "Sure, why not. Show me to the vacuum."

Half an hour later, Joe comes into the kitchen to get some coffee. His wife says, "I didn't hear the vacuum working. I thought you were using it?"

Exasperated, Joe answers, "The stupid thing is broken, it won't start. We need to buy a new one."

"Really?" she says. "Show me. It worked fine the last time."

So he did.

    1. Steve, did you used to live in Franklin, NC. I had heard you left here and moved to Alaska eventually. I'm retired from the US Forest Service now in Franklin. Just wondering. Ben here since 1983.

I had seen it and later my wife mentioned it to me and I wondered what the problem was. No gas?, No oil? Not choked right? Really baffled me for a while. Then the light went off and I guessed it was supposed to be plugged into the electric socket in the wall. Duh!

Sorry, ladies, I wasn't quite that dumb. I picked up on it immediately since I HAD actually used a vacuum cleaner before. Men are getting a little better at household chores and more liberated to do them. I am not sure that we like it much or do it to the standards that our ladies would like. Hence better chance at job security for our much more competent ladies.....guys and we can just keep that to ourselves. ha,,ha,,,

  11. Cute even though it perpetuates the myth that Hollywood pushes of all men being worthless Homer Simpsons, unworthy of respect or leadership in the home. Despite that I got a chuckle too.
