Random pics

Super chicken.

Obligatory cute puppy pix. Lydia is now six months old and can still cram her body into her favorite chair, but it's getting to be a tight squeeze. And she still has lots of growing to do!

Neat sunset last night.

Sunrise this morning, peeking through the trees as I was feeding the cattle.

We had a rare day of perfectly clear blue sky today. The temp didn't get much higher than 33 degrees, but the livestock were out soaking up rays while they could.

Moonrise this evening through the pine and larch.

  1. Lydia looks like a big girl. What breed(s) is she?

  2. Pictures look like a piece of heaven....and a dog to. Life can't get much better than that.

  3. Lydia is a Great Pyrenees, an ancient livestock guarding breed. My understanding is you can raise Pyrenees to guard livestock (by raising them *with* the livestock) or you can raise them to guard the family (by raising them with the family), but you can't do both. Lydia is definitely a family dog. By the time she's mature, she'll not only be enormous, but a superb guardian for her "flock" as well.
