Blustery day!

It's been a terribly windy day today - far too windy to be outdoors with any comfort...

Except some friends brought over a kite. Yes, that's a purple cow. Complete with udder.

Remember the old poem?

I've never seen a purple cow;
I hope to never see one.
But I can tell you anyhow...
I'd rather see than be one.

So Younger Daughter and her friend went out into that howling wind and did their best to get the Purple Cow airborn.

It didn't really work, as the kite kept crashing to the ground.

The neighbor's horses didn't know what to make of this flying monstrosity.

They wheeled around and dashed away. Personally I think it was just an excuse to have a good gallop on a windy day.

  1. It was VERY windy here today Patrice. Since I work at a plant that dries sand, you can probably imagine how much dust is blowing around in those conditions. It is so bad that no one stops by to shoot the "breeze" probably because they do not enjoy spending any time in dustland not to mention that I'm not a real happy person to visit with at that point.
