On every clear evening since last Friday, I've been searching the western horizon for a glimpse of Comet Tsuchinshan-Atlas.
I haven't seen even the tiniest glimpse of it. I can only think it's because it's too low on the western horizon and just out of sight.
Has anyone else been able to see it?
Yes, we saw a white streak in the western sky on Sunday night coming home from church. We took our night vision binoculars outside when we arrived home, and we were able to see it much better, very distinctly. The moon has been so bright that we've not been able to see it since Sunday night.
ReplyDeleteNo, didn't see the comet. But I did just finish your newest book. Loved every minute of reading and couldn't put it down once I started it.
ReplyDeleteSJ now in California
Aw, thank you!

I have a friend who snapped a picture and he said it is dead west, just above Venus. Apparently you can see it better by taking a picture than you can with the naked eye. I have too much light pollution around me, but I want to ride out in the county and try to see it.
ReplyDeleteTommy went out and came in saying he could not see it because of a hazy place. I could not convince him that what he saw was the comet. I forgot to go outside!
ReplyDeleteI'm in SE Ohio and it was amazing , this has been such a celestial event filled year.
ReplyDeleteYes but you will need binoculars, at least.
ReplyDeleteJust tripped across your site. Yes, I saw the comet. Barely visible to the naked eye in the western sky an hour after sunset. Nice tail. Got some decent pics. Only visible to the eye for a day or two.
