Confession time

Dear readers, I have a confession to make: Don and I haven't been home since May 4. On that day, we left on a sort of second honeymoon. With the cows coming in at the end of the month, we knew we had a "now or never" window of opportunity to take a trip before we tied ourselves down with livestock care.

So we toured the west and southwest, similar to what we did on our first honeymoon (although this time we wisely rented a car). We didn't announce this trip in advance because we didn't want to advertise that Older Daughter was home alone.

We're pretty wiped at the moment since we just got home, but expect some blog posts over the next couple weeks retracing our steps and seeing what we saw through the medium of the 1,253 photos I took (I counted!).

Now we have to slam to get fencing and other infrastructure done before the cows arrive. But yowza, it was a good trip.

Stand by for details!

  4. Glad you got a vacation! Read your article in Grit mag. about the mistakes preppers can make, I really appreciated the 3-legged stool view. so many people have the Rambo mentality. It’ll take a network of people if things really do go to poop!

  5. Can’t wait to hear more about the road trip. You are one of my favorite people to live vicariously through! I get tired of constant sunshine, beaches, the ocean, golf (and hurricanes) ;)😉!

Another reader commented about an article you wrote for Grit magazine. I know you write books, and have a regular column for WND, and have written for various publications in the past, but I would love it if you would give us blog readers a heads up whenever you publish an article (or whatever), and provide information, here on your blog, where we can find it. I’m not on any social media so if you post that info on those sites I wouldn’t see it. Thank you.

    1. Ironically, I'm usually the last to know when an article comes out in print. There is often a lag time of several months between submission and publication. I submitted the Grit piece on Jan. 3, for example, and didn't know it had been published until the reader above mentioned it.
