My income rely on SS only so I gotta watch everything. But even then while Trump was in office I generally had a few dollars left to squirrel away for unexpected. Now that comrade jo is attempting to run the show, I'm always wondering if I can put $10 bucks of gas in the tank or only $5. Which basically gets me to town and back....maybe. Case in point as to your pic of the lumber, I watch the steel market. One year ago Friday $544 - this year as of Friday $1951, thats what, over a 300% increase, and then the steel suppliers say, order it, but good luck getting it within the next 6 months. And you can bet this is done on purpose.
Wow. What a stark testimony to the changes we have seen. They are not just our imagination or "transient".

I can’t imagine trying to build a house right now. You’d be in the hole right from the start!
ReplyDeleteA picture is worth a thousand words. I am glad I am not building anything.
ReplyDeleteI’m assuming this is an exaggeration of the increase of lumber and not reality. That lumber would cost around $25 a piece at that rate. Succotash Rose
ReplyDeleteLumber futures are way down compared to back then.
ReplyDeleteFascist inflation..
