Don and I normally don't celebrate birthdays or sappy holidays. We know we love each other and don't insist upon material demonstrations of that love.
So when he came in the other day with a vase of flowers, I melted.
I've got them tucked on the windowsill right next to my laptop so I can see them always.
Happy Valentine's Day, everyone.

ReplyDeleteValentine's Day is probably the most synthetic holiday in the list.
ReplyDeleteThat said, it IS worthwhile to let your sweetie know that she (he) is your sweetie.
To this end YEARS (make that decades) ago. I had a red (I never wear red) polo shirt (not mere t-shirt) made up with "Happily Married" on the back in two inch letters. I wear it one day a year.
The first time I wore it, I marched in to where my wife was working at the time with flowers for my wife. Remember the message is on the back of the shirt.
She didn't see it until I was on my way out.
Being as our pastor made certain to remind the men last Sunday of THIS Sunday. I am wearing the shirt to church....
This is great! π
DeleteAnd to you and your hubby!
ReplyDeleteI think a surprise is more romantic than anything!
