The ultimate curse

Reader Rob sent a charming email that concluded with what I thought was a wonderful "curse."

Ready?

"May you have a rich harvest of produce and familial love. It drives the feminists nuts!!"

Can I get an amen?

  1. Yes, we feminists hate our families as well as fresh strawberries. We're just evil like that.

    1. Don't know if you're evil, but you sure are sarcastic.

Feminism tends to make women so sour. Maybe they need more homegrown strawberries and less feminism. :-)

    2. My thoughts exactly! I love strawberries and my parents. I guess I'm not allowed to have equal rights?

    3. And the original quote is not sarcastic? Excuse me, but I believe it is. If someone thinks families and fresh produce "drive feminists nuts" and you revel in that, then something is wrong with YOU.

  4. Amen! The best humor has an element of truth to it. Being the butt of jokes happens to all of us, even old Rednecks like me.

On a serious note, I am guilty of mocking feminists. I guess it is no different than them using anger in response to pain. Like many, I’ve personally experienced the damage done by the failed feminist movement. Families torn apart. Families that should have been, but never were and now it is too late… Heart-breaking stuff…

Paraphrasing a quote by Brandon Smith, ‘I cannot imagine a torture more terrifying than to realize in the face of one's final days that one wasted her entire life trying to tow the Feminist Movement line and promote their establishment view, instead of taking God’s natural path, leaving a legacy and molding a better tomorrow for their children, real or in distant dreams.’

    1. It's "toe" the line, not "tow." I guess only feminists know grammar.

And now I'll go put some fresh strawberries on my American flag cake. Then, of course, BURN IT because we feminists hate America.

    2. MG, this is a very moving post.
I never understood feminists, and I never really tried very hard to. I was always too busy changing my own oil and bucking my own hay.

    1. We grow two types: ever-bearing (in the rectangular raised beds) and June-bearing (in the tires). Sadly I can't remember the exact varieties, but boy do they **produce.**

  10. Actually, as a feminist (as well as wife, mother and avid gardener) I can say that this is a beautiful blessing. I think most feminists would agree.

    1. I replied earlier but you must have missed it. The tractor has been wonderful and very reliable. I don’t know your situation so I don’t know if it’s something you would find as useful; but after 12 yrs of borrowing tractors from friends whenever we had a heavy project to do, having our own beast of burden has been a blessing, even if it came at a price we’re still paying off. – Patrice
