Sunrise: 5:04 am

Happy first day of summer!

Sunrise at our place: approximately 5:04 am.

Early morning shaft of light on the piano.

As I went out to feed the animals in the bull pen, I noticed our neighbors had two horses with newborn babies. They don't belong to the neighbors, but apparently they're "horse sitting" for someone else since they have the room and the facilities.

Very adorable!

Sunset: 8:29 pm.

Hard to believe the days will start getting shorter after this.

  2. Awww. The Peaceful Kingdom at summer's onset: curious chicks, pretty does, baby horses, randy bulls, and sneaky robins. Super photos this week.

(The "Strawberry Thief" post was a couple days ago, but I liked it. Bad robin! There's an ire that wells up in me when wildlife finds a way to steal my food - food I work hard to grow. OOOOO! I get so mad. "Anything that works" is my motto. And bird netting works GREAT!)
