Rest in peace, Prince Philip

Today we heard Prince Philip, consort for 74 years to Queen Elizabeth, passed away at the venerable age of 99.

For all the foibles of the royal family over the last few decades, my understanding is Philip was a rock of stability. What a blow to the queen to lose her husband after nearly three-quarters of a century together.

Rest in peace, Prince Philip.

  1. Say what you want about Prince Philip, he gave up his own Navy career to gracefully and lovingly support his young wife in her role, and he endured the changes that her role caused.
Shame on everyone that is trying so desperately to dig up dirt.

  2. Once upon a time, we just let the dead be the dead and mourning them.

    Very long-lived family.

  4. It is refreshing to see a nice post. I was never a huge fan of the Royals but I do know Prince Philip was the one who tried to have Charles and Diana reconcile. I was saddened by the public lashing out by Harry and his wife against the phamily. His grandmother adored him and the attack on Philip regarding their marriage and child was hard to understand, since the man was coming to the end of his life. I was appalled to see two adults attack his 99 year year old grandfather. Quite sad and I feel badly for the Queen. People should know their story before they make such terrible judgement against them. My heart goes out to her. Thank you for your lovely post.
