No Christmas on Christmas

As with Thanksgiving, we won't be holding Christmas on Christmas. That's because I'm working both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

Besides, without our girls here, holidays are quiet anyway. Older Daughter is also working on Christmas Eve, and of course Younger Daughter is in Japan. So our holiday celebration is likely to be low-key. Church, a viewing of "A Christmas Carol," and a glass of Irish cream – that's how Don and I plan to celebrate.

But don't feel sorry for us – we're merely postponing things. Older Daughter made arrangements to take off some days in early January, so we'll be meeting up at her place along with some of our old and beloved neighbors, and we'll have a late Christmas party with gifts and laughter and conviviality. We did this last year, and it was a blast.

And for you, dear readers, I wish you all health and happiness and blessings with loved ones this Christmas.
