Right now, spring is everywhere. The plum trees are blossoming, the birds are singing, the grass is greening up. We've even had a couple of days with temperatures above 70F! (Those won't last; we're slumping back into the 60s and 50s later in the week.)
But the surest sign of spring?
I can finally hang our flannel sheets outside to dry after washing.
Don and I use flannel sheets for all but the hottest summer months. I drape them over the drying racks indoors in winter, but it's always much nicer to hang them to dry in the fresh air and sunshine.
Yep, it must be spring.

I would have said the Hummingbird feeders! LOL!
ReplyDeleteLow forties here for the past few weeks and upcoming. We might zoom up to 50 on Saturday. Bah humbug.
ReplyDeleteI love the smell of the sheets when I get into bed after they've been hung out. Unfortunately, my husband can't have me hang out anything anymore due to allergies.

Same here, asthma. I have 6 lines in all day sun and can't use them. Thankfully we have a local family propane company that charges an affordable rate for the dryer. My sweet neighbor used to complain the dryer lint was her clothes getting eaten up. She so missed using clotheslines.
DeleteHoping to put up the clothesline later this week once the temps reach average highs in the low fifties here, first ring suburb of St Paul.

ReplyDeleteAround this Homestead tis not only the Sheets that get hung out in the fresh air.....
I have to admit I use a "Dryer" in the cooler days of winter, but no mater what ya do, there is nada like the smell and feel of sun/wind dried clothes
Y'all have a WONDERFUL day.
We've got a lot of yellow dirt in the air right now, but I hung things out to mostly dry anyway today. Then cheated and finished them in the dryer. My allergies are going nuts. Broke down and started taking some antihistamines to get through this pollen season and I hate that because they're linked to dementia. But not going to take them every day forever like docs recommend. It isn't necessary.
