Greetings from Colorado Springs!

I'm writing this from a hotel in Colorado Springs. Been up (yawn) since 4 am finishing up the talks and panel questions for the Self-Reliance Expo, so I'm a little on the wiped side.

Just some photos of the day's travels:

Lake Coeur d'Alene, just flying over the southern end.

Coming down near Denver, I was struck by the perfect symmetry of this cloverleaf. Quite pretty from the air.

Taxiing to a stop. In the exact center of the photo (hard to see, sorry) is the white peaked rooftop of the airport, designed to resembled the snow-covered peaks of the Rockies. (It was a hazy day, so the real peaks weren't very visible.)

They're putting me up at this swanky and incredibly friendly hotel. Nice!

Hotel stays are a rare, rare thing in my life (last year's trip to Florida was my first hotel stay in eight years), so stuff like this tickles me pink.

From my hotel window is this beautiful view of the Rockies. The tall peak is Pike's Peak.

Shortly after posting this, I'm attending a "mixer" downstairs to meet the other speakers as well as the staff of the Expo. My, doesn't that sound sophisticated?

But I'm limiting myself to one glass of wine. Alcohol and lack of sleep don't mix.

Cheerio!

    1. Yeah! What K said!

And I say, if a person could only visit one place in all of Colorado, Colorado Springs would almost have to be that place. It's a superb area.

You're in your element. Have fun!!

  2. Patrice -

You are a blessing to so many. Thanks for all you do!

I had hoped to meet you in person some day, and I am only a couple of hours drive from you now. However, I am swamped with work and have to fly out on Sunday, so unfortunately this is not when we will get to meet.

I pray you will have a great time in the Springs, educate a bunch of folk, and have a good time doing it :>)

    1. Well, ah, no... I've been sorta-kinda permanently "borrowing" Older Daughter's camera. She's being very nice to loan it to me.

  6. Being a native Coloradan, Colorado Springs is among my favorite destinations. If you have the opportunity, go visit the Garden of the Gods. It is spectacularly beautiful and its FREE! Wish I could come to the convention but I have to work :( Have a great time and I cant wait for the follow up blog posts!
