So Dr. Barber is confirming that Christ was right. The ‘narrow gate’ will be wide enough. I’m sure Christ will be relieved to hear that.Montana Guy
The man you cite is correct about people not believing they need God. And the bible itself records a great falling away which does seem to be happening as I write. Pride.
We are a very "prideful" people. Dependance on science & technology though will not save us. We are still mortal.... death still rules (and unfortunately taxes). Unable to see the flaws in their logic, prideful people will find out how wrong they were. Unsurprisingly, many when ultimately faced with death see for the first time they were wrong. The "God's Not Dead" movie pretty well drove this home for the "atheist" professor dying on the street after a vehicle hit him. Please, if you have not seen this movie and you have doubts about God, see it before it is too late for you. If you are still living and breathing you can change and become one of His. Well written Patrice as always!
It has always bothered me how often people use the word "pride." They are "proud" of this and "proud" of that. Even Christians I know are always talking about how "proud" they are of their children, or their spouse, or whatever. Many years ago a young college basketball player spelled it out after winning the national championship, and I really understood for the first time. He was asked by an interviewer if he was "proud" of what he had accomplished. He replied, "Proud? No, I'm not proud. I'm grateful to God for giving me the ability to do what I do." The Bible tells us that "Everyone who is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord." (Proverbs 16:5) It also says that "Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before stumbling. It is better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, than to divide the spoil with the proud." (Proverbs 16:18,19) We should not be proud, but rather pleased and thankful to God. --Fred in AZ

Yes, folks in the western world have become unchurched. But, did they abandon God or did the western churches abandon the people? I'm in my 80's was unchurched for close to 50 years. BUT, I hadn't abandoned God - I had left the western churches because I felt they were no longer relevant. I felt they had abandoned me. Recently, I discovered the eastern orthodox churches, became a member of one, have found a home there, AND didn't change anything theologically.Hangtown Frank
