If I were king...

Here's my WND column for this weekend entitled If I Were King...

  1. the only comment I partly disagree with Patrice, is the term limits. Sometimes a 'good' politician gets cut by those...so maybe some wiggle room there? but then again, that could work against us too....

  3. Wow, great stuff !
You want to joust at all the wind mills at once. Of course, your reasoning is too logical. Obviously, logic don't sell around here.

    Huggs..

  4. Patrice, what a glorious way to start my morning. Good common sense from a woman (queen) that I respect.
One thing to add...my right to worship and serve my Lord as I see fit. I am not talking about nativity scenes on public lands or the like; I am talking about my right to wear a cross in a public place and the right to speak about my faith as I see fit and not have it classified as hate speech.
    Truly great piece!

  5. Good Morning! and what a great way to start the morning after reading my Bible devotional, I get to read this lovely piece you recently wrote. The only thing I could think of right off the bat was CLOSE PRISONS and just leave a few centrally located ones for mild crimes; and bring back the ball and chain, bread and water so that they don't become repeat offenders. For those that committed violent crimes I would bring back capital punishment; simple as that. In ALL states. Close all the police departments, since we have the second amendment, who needs them? Lots more that I would do or suggest if I were one of your advisors..or one of your fine princesses..lol ..Have a great weekend and be blessed...Alicia

  7. Amen Patrice. Now that Ron Paul has retired from Congress I can't think of ONE of the 545 worth keeping. Montana is a good example. Both Tester and Baucus were lapdogs for Obamacare. Now our newly elected CINO (Conservative-In-Name-Only) Rep. Daines just voted to fund Obamacare. Daines hasn't attended a dozen DC parties and he has already announced his candidacy for Senate. Yep, he has already turned into one of your "insane puffed-up power-hungry devils". I truly believe the DC is now behind enemy lines; that enemy being Satan.

Short of divine intervention, DC CAN NOT be fixed. We have squandered our Founders' Republic. Let's prepare for its fall, and pray for what rises from America's ashes. Those are two reasons we visit this website every day. It gives me great comfort knowing that we are grooming children capable to carry the torch of liberty.

  8. Good point Bets!...don't tell me I can't worship the True God...or that I am insulting another religion because of my nativity scene or by saying "Merry CHRISTmas"...Yes, I should wear my cross earrings, etc...or even my bullet earrings without getting arrested. ooh!..so much to do as queen..for even just one day. :)

  9. Freedom is the natural state of man. Nature works within its own market forces and will always have its way. By one method or another, your words will come to pass. (sans Patrice the Queen thingy) The only questions is, how much time/suffering/dying will we endure to get there?

    As always, great article!

  10. It is time for strict term limits , 2 years thats it. No more career politicians. Time for citizen legislators, they get paid what they were paid in their life before Washington , and after the 2 years back home. Abolish most of the Federal agencies , no more rule by executive order. A big amen to 10th amendment , more power to states and a weaker federal government. Less militarized police , no more GI JOE police in HUMVEES and APC's . All private drones get grounded now,

  11. I agree with everything but two items:
    1. Welfare. The federal government has no business in welfare. It may be true that there are needy people but robbing Peter to pay Paul is still morally and constitutionally wrong.
    2. It is physically impossible to have a gold standard today. If the amount of gold had kept up with the population it would be possible. It is a great idea and certainly possible when our population was small. Also it would result in an unscrupulous nation insisting onpayments in gold (which the gold standard implies) and eventually owning all the gold. That is the reason we ended the gold standard because France insisted on payments in gold.

    1. I agree with your #1, but your #2 is wrong. You might want to read more Rothbard & Paul, both of whom wrote extensively on a gold standard. It seems that your thinking is that we would only buy things from France with gold but that they would never buy from us when we institute a true gold standard. If we have such a standard we would expect payments from them in gold as they would expect gold payments from us. As such, no payments would suffer from inflation.

  13. I mostly agree but with some caveats. Most notably, there would be a time limit established on your rule. If the job was not accomplished within the time limit, too bad.
Second, anyone who took on such a role would have to agree to go back to the farm after the time limit or be terminated .. the hard way. Because for most people, that is what it would take to end a rule that had that much power.

  14. How did you get a hold of my manifesto? LOL! "Great minds" and all that. The only differences were the cookies (great idea) and I have "remove all retirement benefits from ALL gov personnel", it's a service not a career". And that may be one of those you did not mention. ;)

    Awesome!

  15. Actually, I like Queen Patty better than Queen Patrice. It sounds more casual and American! Whatever, girl, ya got my vote!

  16. Very good article. You'd have my vote.
I would also want to see the US stop trying to take care of the rest of the world. We have enough problems in our own country which need to be handled.
Cut off the aid to all those countries who hate America so much, but don't have a problem taking our money. Those oil controlling countries who are supposedly controlling our gas prices need tit for tat. $100 for barrel of oil. Fine a bushel of grain will be the same price for them. As far as I know, wheat and corn doesn't grow to well in the sand.

  17. Thanks for such a great article! Now, for a question totally off topic: Perhaps last fall I think you had a post about making vinegar from apple cores and peels. I can't find any reference in
your key word list. If that was indeed you, could you point me to the post that included that info? Many thanks in advance!
