A sermon

My husband wrote this. It pretty much just poured out of his soul.

The official U.S. unemployment rate is about one in every ten working people. The reality is probably closer to two in ten. It will get worse.

There are currently 6.3 million vacant homes in the United States that are either for sale or for rent. The total number of foreclosed homes is in the millions...and rising.

Since the year 2000, we have lost 10% of our middle class jobs.

Our population is nearly three times that of 1940, but we have the same number of manufacturing jobs as we did back then.

20% of Detroit is being cut off from essential city services due to inability of the City Government to pay. (In 1990 Detroit was the 8th largest US city. Today it is the 11th,)

Camden, New Jersey, listed as the second most dangerous city in the country, is laying off half of its cops.

A poll suggests that 40% of all U.S. doctors plan to bail out of the profession over the next three years.

Over 6 million Americans have been unemployed for half a year or longer.

Total U.S. debt is listed as 14.7 trillion dollars. That debt as a percentage of GDP is now greater than it was during the height of the Great Depression.

Actual U.S. debt including Social Security and Medicare and all the other off-budget mandates is now over 100 trillion dollars. To pay just that debt, each person living in the U.S. (including our illegals) would have to write a check for **a third of a million dollars.** But you'd better write it quick. Obama's proposed 2011 budget is for 3.69 trillion

Social Security, Medicare and interest on the official debt will gobble up every single tax dollar by 2020.

More control (and more money) will go this year to social redistribution, greater limits on personal freedom, on limits of personal income, on limits of self-expression, on gun control, on religious limitations.

But what do you say about the new broom in Washington? The Republican revolution? The Tea Party take-over? Sarah Palin? Scott Brown? Newt Gingrich?

Our politicians are liars, swindlers, egomaniacs, and power-mad want-to-be dictators. All of them. Sorry, but that's the truth. This is true even for those who claim to support our now-worthless Constitution. These false patriots make a grand noise about principles and morality, but when asked about specifics will hem and haw when it comes to being forced to return to the limitations placed on them by the Founders.

And it is those limitations that were our only chance of survival as a free and secure Nation. After all, there's no reason to bribe a politician if he is not legally able to help or hinder a corporation or special interest. And although corporations may often be immoral, **only their partnership with an abusive government gives them any real power.**

Our politicians not only allow for the existence of Agencies and Commissions that do their work for them and for the corporations who pay them, they also actively participate in advancing their illegal behavior (FCC, FED, TSA, etc.). In a time when we all know that there is no more money in the coffers, when our debt is already out of control, our government continues (with the help of imaginary money) to run lemming-like towards the great cliff of financial ruin by spending on anything and everything that furthers their goals of personal power.

And it is personal.

Forget the imaginary tools of socialism, Marxism, nationalism and all the other "isms". These are the same snake oil cures always sold by dictators and their sycophants. Does anyone actually believe that our "leaders" really intend to share in the "egalitarianism" they want to force us to endure? Of course not. By the use of, and amplification of, malice, envy, and covetness, they inflame those useful idiots they've indoctrinated in government schools to scream for the heads of the hard-working, the God-fearing, and the freedom-loving.

You may say, "But there are good people in the Government." If so, then they are blind. There is no other way to explain their continued support of such evil.

The time to recognize reality is now. Please put aside your binders. Remove the beam from your eye.

There is no way to stop the collapse of the system. The very act of trying will now only hurry the inevitable. The mountain is coming down. No hastily constructed structure can halt it. Anything placed in its way will simply be added to the debris. Survival, personal survival, will not occur by placing your shoulder against the slide. You can not outrun the avalanche. You cannot ride the talus and live.

So what do you do?

You get out of the way.

The Constitution is a contract between two completely different entities. It is a covenant between a government...and you. The government is not the United States of America. It is not you. Whatever it once was, it has now become an evil and bloated corporation who's only interest is its own survival at your expense.

Government has broken the covenant. It has willfully and maliciously failed in its contractual obligations.

And therefore you are no longer bound to honor your side of the commitment.

Get out of the way while you can. Help those closest to you to escape the coming destruction. Reconnect with those you love and open the door to the loving God who is knocking. You will need His help to survive the storm. Make your home ready. Help others to prepare for the long night to come. Forgive those who seek forgiveness. Ask for forgiveness from those you’ve wronged and from the God who gave you life. Light a lamp to help guide those in need of your help. Resist the coming evil if you can, but if nothing else, do nothing to assist it. Gather those closest to you closer. Find and cherish the many more who seek. Make a new contract with them.

Start it with these words and keep them Holy. They are, you know.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. — That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, — That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.”

  1. As much as I'd like to think we can still save this country, I'm afraid you are absolutely right, Don. It's time to save ourselves now, and let the country go. We can rebuild if we save what's important and let die that which isn't.

    It's time to remember He is in charge and will not fail us.

    When the Republicans caved in and accepted the 13 month extension of unemployment benefits, I knew nothing was going to change, not really. They are all looking out for themselves at the expense of the productive people. When I hear Obama talk about redistributing income, I wonder how he can afford to play so much golf or fly to Hawaii for vacations. I guess his income is exempt from redistribution. What a hypocritical Kenyan he is. They all are hypocrites and liars. Most belong in prison.

    Preparing for the worst and praying for the best is all we have left. God will never abandon those who seek Him. Prepare now because 2011 isn't looking good at all.

    I have a couple of words for everybody to think about: windage & elevation.

    Finally, we've heard from you. There has not been much posted under "Husband of the Boss."

    I think we are beyond all hope of bringing this country back- there are way too many people asleep and apathetic to realize what is enveloping them. I believe that we need to make our selves right with God and do the best we can to provide for our families and neighbors.

    We do not have enough financial means to stock up and prepare for 1 full year as is suggested. If we had that much disposable income to spend we would be stocked to the hilt. I think in reality most people don't have more than enough extra money each month to buy more than a few extra things each month, and of course you go through things and draw upon your supplies, therefore, requiring the further purchase of goods with money that may or may not be there.

    We have struggled to put just a little aside in the form of food, supplies etc.

    My husband and I are seeking God, His wisdom, guidance, and help. I feel so very humbled at our efforts to try to be even barely enough prepared.... as I know our efforts are dwarfed by so many that have the means to stock up and prepare. I just believe that we have God's blessing to see us through, no matter how tough it is and the lessons and trials we will go through.

I wish I could live up there in Idaho with friends like y'all. This article is so dang true, that my heart aches for freedom.

Unfortunately, it's gotten so out of hand that it has to come crashing takes the crashing to make people open their eyes and begin to think with common sense again.....I hope that all of the people are prepared and in the aftermath will step up to rebuild in the spirit it was started originally.....

  7. What a powerful article! As my dad and his dad before him would say, "that's the word with the bark on it"! That was his way of stating an could take it to the bank. I worry about our country and what she is becoming. I'm a boomer and have seen the changes from the late forties till now. While technology and knowledge are increasing, our national identity and values are decreasing to the point of vanishing. Some people will listen, others never will. I have two children. One understands and is doing all she and her husband can. The other doesn't want to hear about it. I guess all we can do is prepare the best we can, pray, and hope we can take care of the family and friends who don't get it.
    Keep writing, Don. You have a lot to say, and we need to hear it!

    The next segment of the Declaration is everyt bit as important:

    Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

    " is their right, it is their DUTY.."

    I am not a "threeper", but as you pointed out this organization which is in power is no longer a government of the Constiturion, of the Declaration, of, by, and for the People...

    How do you stop any organism?

    Starve it.

    Fedzilla (I love this term from Ted Nugent) must be put on a severe diet, or starved outright.

    How is it fed? Taxes.

    To starve Fedgov, taxes must dry up.

    To accelerate it we need to go on strike, but most of us are not prepared to do so (including yours truly).

    There is still a small chance that the Tea Party movement can force change, but I am not at all certain that the majority of Tea Party folk understand the amount of downsizing that is required to get the genie back in the bottle and cork firmly set.

    Everybody will have an "ox" that gets gored. I, for example and a terrible space nerd and like a great deal of what NASA does. BUT, there is nothing in our founding documents that support such an agency. There is no department of exploration.

    Ulp.. I am willing to let go of the ISS, the shuttle and the rest.

    You, over there.. are you willing to let go of your farm subsidies?

    And you, yes you.. are you ready to give up the regulations that put give your company a competitive advantage.

    You lot hiding in the corner, yup.. the government jobs that do all of this have got to go..

    It is NOT easy.

    Ready for a diet America?

    It is diet or let the cancer continue to spread...

  9. Rob, just to clear things up: we have NEVER taken a farm subsidy. But other than that I agree - everyone must be willing to give up their favorite government program in order to starve the beast.

    To you and yours a Merry Christmas. I have just recently found your blog, but enjoy it immensely, and check it everyday now, along with many other sources for information.
    Don, your “sermon” rings truer than most I have read recently. I fear you are right about the state of affairs. I have watched this situation culminate over the past years and have done all that I can to prepare for it. Though unemployed for over 2 years, I find myself unwilling to take a job where taxes are taken out. I will in no way support the Empire we now live in. Although I do not have the resources to relocate, I have done much in the way of making what I do have workable. Precious metal, lead gold and silver, a garden, though not yet large enough, removing myself from the megopolies, like fuel oil and reducing electrical need, and storing food enough for a year have been taken care of.
    Government is not out of control, but very near in full control. They just can’t manage their checkbook to make it all work, nor will they ever be able to. The constitution has been trampled, but it was never more than a contract to insure property rights by a group of elite slave masters. Rob has many good points also. We do MOST OF ALL need to quit feeding the beast. General strike is the only power we have left as a people.
    Thanks for letting me rant and ramble. My best to all out there. May we all unite on the other side of all this.


  11. Don, thanks for a very well written and hard impacting sermon. For all it is worth please take solace that there are literally millions of patriotic Americans that share the same opinion of what is in store for us. The time for watering the tree of liberty will soon be upon our nation.
    I fear that the time for a peaceful and political solution has gone by us and it is time to slay the oppressive beast. Godspeed to all.

  13. I don't like our burgeoning, oppressive government, progressive taxes, wealth redistribution, immoral lifestyle acceptance, decay of the family, or loss of traditional values either. Because of my values and the speed with which we've recently experienced cultural and societal "change", I, too, am predisposed to think that the "end is near". However, there are many nations around the world (Canada, UK, and Europe most notably come to mind) who are a decade or two ahead of us in their "cultural advancement" and "social justice". They've got their problems, but I don't see them experiencing an all-out collapse anytime soon.

    I don't like the direction our nation is going...not one bit...but nor do I think national failure is imminent. I think it'll take one or more very significant or traumatic events before we see a wholesale unraveling of our societal fabric, before we see a total failure of our Nation.

    Rather, I think what we're seeing is a type of righteous anger that hopes for national failure so that those who have done what is contrary to our strongly held morals and values will suffer the consequences of their godlessness, laziness, and greed. I must admit an unhealthy side of me finds a touch of satisfaction in thinking people might suffer the consequences for their evil behavior.

    Then Jesus reminds me that a sin is a sin is a sin in God's eyes, and even the smallest sin I commit is enough to eternally separate me from Him. God reminds me that--like homosexuals, idolaters, adulterers, liars, and thieves--I deserve eternal damnation for my sin.

    Whatever method we use to bring our nation back to its roots--be it peaceful or violent...may it be pleasing to God.

    I believe at this point the mountain is crumbling. I pray that we all have listened and prepared in a manner that eases any suffering our families may go through.

    I also continue to pray that our once great United States of America will be reborn some day on the other side of this impending storm.

  16. I agree with every sentence of this post. Thank you for taking the time to write it and making it available for us to read. I believe things are to a point of no return. I just pray for God's guidance and wisdom on what to do. I've found that the more I learn the more overwhelming it can be, yet I know the worst is yet to come. Many today are unprepared for what's ahead, even in my own family. I share my concerns but it doesn't seem to sink in. I believe we could very well be living in the last days as the Bible talks about. Please continue to share and I pray God will have mercy on us.

  17. Oh my. I have goose bumps. Everything you have said is so sadly true. I have to remember though, that God is in control and that He works all things together for good for those who love Him and are called according to His good purpose. I know that the bottom has to be hit in order for an alcoholic to cry "uncle" and seek God's face, and I know that the bottom has to be hit in order for a nation to cry "uncle" and reacknowldege God's authority. However, I also know that for those in rebellion against God who do finally hit bottom there are only two choices - to surrender to God and get help or die. I pray for our nation that we might surrender to the Almight God because otherwise there is only the second alternative.

  18. Don, at Christmas Eve dinner tonight, I brought up some of the things that you mentioned in this topic. I was inundated with questions: What does he foresee? When will it happen? Will there be widespread violence or peaceful protests? I had to tell all the friends and family that I don't know and I'm not sure Don would have time to answer all of these questions, but I'm asking in the hope that you will have the time as well as the inclination to answer them.

    I'll restate their questions more concisely here:

    1) Do you have any specific ideas about what we can expect? For example, hyperinflation leading to riots or perhaps union strikes which lead to food and gasoline shortages.

    2) Do you envision widespread violence or peaceful protests, or neither? How do you think the majority of the people will react to a sustained shortage of gasoline, for example?

    3) When do you think a definitive and eye-opening SHTF scenario will unfold? Has it already begun (and most people missed it)? Will it happen in 2011 or 2012 or later?

    4) If the government were to collapse, what would you suggest to take its place? Would you return to the Constitution or scrap it and start anew?

    Don, I know you're a busy man and I don't know if you'll be willing or able to answer these questions, but I can tell you there are people (myself included) who would like to consider your opinions and compare them to their own.

    It's hard to believe that our country is in this position considering the number of know-it-alls we have running it. Their actions speak out loudly as evidenced by the decline of eveything we hold dear.

    And if not their intelligence it must be the intentional destruction of our way of life.

    But as bad as they are, our fellow countrymen are complicit in this destruction. They voted for these self serving people again, even after being presented with all the evidence of what these people have destroyed so far.

    Employment, housing, insurance, healthcare, illegals, how to fight a war etc.

    While telling us everything is geting better.

    How can so many get it wrong and we as a nation survive. What will it take for these people to realize that our current governing body thinks we are idiots, they know whats best for us and that they are incapable of providing us with anything but the eventual destruction of this country and its citizens.

    I know we will prevail in keeping our country but that living conditions are going to drop dramatically. The sad thing is, this didn't have to happen, we let it.

    Is it any wonder why they hate the constitution and want to abolish it - Evilutionist, Santanist,etc. will never acknowledge a CREATOR!

  22. The last anonymous that posted "evilutionist", I am personally offended. Once again, it sounds like science is a sin. But it doesn't have to be.

    I believe in evolution and creation. I know they can co-exist. It just upsets me that if I believe in evolution, I am some kind of evil sinner that is bound for eternal punishment.

    I believe that if you really look at evolution, you can see creation in it. If you follow Genesis, and look at what leading researchers say about how the universe was created, they line up almost perfectly. The timing may be off, but what is a day in God's time?

    Was God's hand not there when fish developed lungs? Was it not God's design for dinosaurs to sprout feathers? Was it not God that send the meteor to wipe out 3/4 of the species, including dinosaurs to make way for humans to evolve?

    Evolution still has God's fingerprints all over it and for someone to say that anyone that believes that is a "evilutionist", is just un-Christian.

    But on a lighter note, Don, you really rang true today and I've got your back here in Southern Colorado... God Bless and keep us.

  23. Very eloquent, very moving and very sobering. Thomas Paine would be proud. We are a nation on the verge, and most of the people don't even know it, but continue to drink the kool-aid, while those who spend us to oblivion drink the elixir of power.

    I only discovered this blog last week, and am so glad I did. May the new year at least bring a little hope to those of us trying to prepare ourselves and our loved ones for what's coming.

    I chose to be a child of God by responding to the Holy Spirit, repenting, accepting God's gift of salvation in his only begotten Son Jesus Christ, God's unspeakable gift which I thank him for everyday!

    Evilution is of the devil so you cannot mix the two creation and evilution! You obviously do not want truth or you would read the King James Bible God's preserved word and know truth, Jesus said in the 17th chapter of John in speaking to his Heavenly Father thy word is truth!

    He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. IJohn 5:10-12

    How dare you to put finite man above an infinite almighty God who gave us of his Son Jesus Christ the creator of all things and for his pleasure they are and were created! John 1

    Jesus Christ created you and paid the price for your sins (and yes you are a sinner just like all of humanity) - with his blood on the cross, humble yourself sir and repent while you still can time is very short God is about to lift his hand off this nation and woe be to the inhabitants!

  25. Patrice, I have come to rely on reading you as often as possible. It is rewarding to realize that other people see things the way I do. I envy you the farm (in a good way), but it was never an option as my spouse had other ideas. As a friend of mine used to say: "You have to bloom where God plants you."
    I really apreciate Don's sermon even though I already believed everything he had to say. Like so many commenters I have lost hope that we can change what is coming. I am preparing to the best of my ability and have been doing so for quite a few years.
    My greatest disappointment is I have been unable to inspire family members and close friends. These people want to believe that things will always be as the way they have always been. These are the same people who will expect my help, but my ability to help is limited. If everyone was doing something on their own, they would not be a burden. Every nook and cranny takes up preps.
    Finally, I rely on this: "For thou are my patience, O Lord: my hope, O Lord from my youth." Pslams 71:5
