The beginning of the end

Here is a letter to the editor on WorldNetDaily.com from Friday, October 1:
_______________________________

OK, I am in hysterics.

Blue Cross/Anthem just raised my rates $3,000 a year and took away a lot of my benefits. I called a policy counselor at Anthem to discuss changing my deductible, or changing my plan, because I refuse to keep paying for this when they don't pay any of my claims.

Guess what they told me. I am so mad! The counselor told me he was required by law to read me a statement about Obamacare. Here's the deal: I am "grandfathered" in my plan, meaning as long as I keep this exact plan, then I don't have to go into Deathcare. However, if I make any small change, like my deductible, etc., then I am immediately dumped into Deathcare.

I am irate. I can't choose my own insurance. If I want to change companies, policies, benefits, deductible, anything, then I have be subjected to the Deathcare mandates.

Susan

This is just the beginning, folks. If Obamacare - full of 2000 pages of mysterious clauses and unread stipulations - is fully implemented, within a decade every person in this nation will be forcibly enrolled in this hideous program. The freedom to select your own doctor, determine your own treatment, and even opt out of health care altogether will be wiped out.

Be ready.

  1. I don't mean to sound insensitive or lacking in compassion for those who, like the writer of this letter, are being or soon will be ripped off for not only their health care but for their hard-earned money as well; but the more stories like this that come raining down on our elected officials and so-called 'public servants,' the sooner we'll see this evil specter of Deathcare repealed. It simply cannot stand.
I personally would like to see legislation passed that would subject any elected official to stiff criminal prosecution for voting on any legislation he or she had not read and of which they could not demonstrate adequate comprehension.

  2. I agree with A.McSp. I simply do not believe that Obamacare is going to be able to stand in the long run. I think that once it starts really negatively affecting even those who thought it would be great, there will be such an outcry that it will be repealed too.

I used to work in a medical office doing billing and ins. work. I kept telling everyone that they do not want the govt. in charge of their insurance and health care decisions. Medicaid and Medicare are already screwed up, ESPECIALLY medicaid. That is the prime example of what the govt. does for "the people". And most of the people who relied on medicaid were frustrated by their lack of choice already.

  3. Good idea on the criminal prosecution for the unread but passed legislation!

My unemployed vet SIL decided that he'd take advantage of the GI bill and finish college during the downturn and take care of the kids (which would save $800+ a month in day care fees). The government-administered GI bill is over two months late arriving as of this date, and his classes still haven't been paid for. This is not his first semester. He's had similar problems before including when they've decided that his benefits were overpaid when in fact they hadn't been paid at all, and then withheld compensation which STILL hasn't been settled.

The GI bill is pretty screwed up and takes forever to resolve. I pointed out to SIL and daughter to cheer up, just wait until government takes care of all their insurance. They're not thrilled at the thought.

  4. we are feeling the pinch from our health care company too. a nice 15% hike in fees and less choices. The big kicker was the huge increase to our town's budget, completely due to the fact that healthcare for town workers has gone up so much!

  5. I would like to see a mandate that the legislators who force anything on the PEOPLE of this country be subject to the SAME themselves. That would stop a lot of this NONSENSE!

  6. I have no health insurance. I want no health insurance. And I sure as heck don't want the government's version of health insurance. In fact, I don't want the government telling me what kind of oil I can use for cooking or what type of car I drive or what kind of lightbulbs I use or how much electricity I use or when I can wash my clothes or how much air to put in the tires of my car. When will more people wake up and realize that the government controls everything NOW and it will only get worse?

Vote them all out in November. Vote them all out again in 2012. Send a loud message that politicians work for us, we don't work for them.

  7. November 2 is coming.

    It is called an election.

If you don't like the direction that the nation is taking (or do for that matter - but then I question your judgement) - VOTE.

You want this DeathCare deal gone? VOTE.

You want your country on the road to recovery? VOTE.

    November 2.

Did I mention that we all need to get our hind ends out and VOTE?!?!?

  8. Guys, as an insurance professional I can tell you that Obamacare wasn't designed to work...it's designed to bankrupt the private insurance companies (and us because our insurance rates will go through the roof with features like guaranteed issue and immediate coverage for all preexisting conditions) so that our government can come in and 'save the day' with true nationalized health-care. Our system wasn't perfect...but the health care legislation is clearly the first phase of public sector power grab the likes of which I've never seen in my lifetime!

  9. Anonymous 10/2/10 3:55pm is exactly correct. The whole Obamacare "compromise" is a lie and a sham. It is indeed a sneeky path for the current administration to get what it ultimatley wants - a single payer health care system. That means the government bureaucrats determine literally who lives and who dies, based on the regulations established by the Regulations Czar, one Cass Suntein. It means the government determines what type of health care you get, or whether or not you get any. This is the plan - to eliminate those who are too sick, too crippled, too old to pay taxes. It is a horror story that is playing out right now and right in front of us. Unfortunately, there are still too many Americans who don't see or don't want to see the truth. They continue to support the administration, even as it plans its next move against the very people it claims to care about. Look up Cass Sunstein and learn for yourself. He is probably the scariest man on this continent, right above George Soros. Do your homework and spread the word before it's too late.

Isn't it odd that a woman can CHOOSE to have an abortion, but after 2014 NOBODY can choose to use incandescent lightbulbs? So murdering an unborn child is fine with this government, but your choice of lightbulbs needs to be restricted? Think about it. The country is going to become worse than Communist China if we don't wake up and see the truth soon. And it doesn't stop with November, we must remain vigilant from now on.

  10. PS, if one more Supreme Court justice is appointed by Obama, you can forget about any of this horror story being ruled unconstitutional. Obama's two appointees have written time and again that they think international law takes precedence over our Constitution. Obama appoints one more judge to the highest court in the land and we are finished. We must pray that our 5 constitutional judges remain healthy and safe.

  11. I could proudly add my name to everything A.P. has expressed on this thread. I agree with her completely.

The writin's on the wall, babies.

The only thing I'd add is: find and support a group working to purge our voter rolls of the illegal, dead and multiply-registered names that currently infect our most precious and basic treasure as free Americans: our right to vote in clean elections. In the dreadful torrent of things currently and rapidly eroding our rights as Americans, nothing presents a greater threat to our freedom than voter corruption. We must make it a priority to force our elected officials to address this critical and growing problem.

Stay well, be blessed, and keep your powder dry.

  12. I am confused about something...even I, no degree in economics, just your average consumer, saw this coming. I've read versions of the Deathcare bill, and I knew it was going to drive insurance companies out of business. (By design, I might add.) Will somebody please tell me why, oh why, the insurance companies supported it anyway??? I mean, most people/businesses don't cut off their own noses to spite their faces.

I've asked that question of other people, and was told that, "The greedy insurance companies stand to make a bundle off ObamaCare." Really, really??? Uh, yeah, sure, I'm seein' that. Try again.

Then, after they go out of business, and there is no one selling health insurance anymore, the nice Congress people will wave Single Payer in front of our faces, and say, "Well, lookee what we found." Anybody that didn't see this coming has had to have had their head so firmly stuck in some dark place (I'm trying to be polite here), that it would never see the light of day. How anybody could have supported this bill is way beyond my ken.

  13. Oh, and additionally, how could anybody in this US of A trust ANYTHING that Congress opted themselves out of??? Anybody got a FREAKING CLUE BAT? And as for the rest of that lovely POS, most of Congress is wealthy enough to hire the tax lawyers that will find the loopholes to keep most of those, dare I call them, people, from having to pay too much in the way of taxes, penalties, and so forth.
