Somebody send this to Obama, would you?

Here's an appropriate quote:

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friend, is about the end of any nation. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it."

- Dr. Adrian Rogers, 1931-2005

An alternate version by the same author reads as follows:

"You cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the industrious out of it. You don't multiply wealth by dividing it. Government cannot give anything to anybody that it doesn't first take from somebody else. Whenever somebody receives something without working for it, somebody else has to work for it without receiving. The worst thing that can happen to a nation is for half of the people to get the idea they don't have to work because somebody else will work for them, and the other half to get the idea that it does no good to work because they don't get to enjoy the fruit of their labor."

  1. A correction: Adrian Rogers was born in 1931 (died in 2005)...that quote was from his book Ten Secrets for a Successful Family in 1996. See
After reading your post, I sent around the quote, then looked it up because the date struck me as being too long ago. But it's still a great quote!

  2. Maybe if we ALL sent it to him, he'd notice.

  3. All the indications are that the USA doesn't really need to "multiply" its total wealth; indeed, that it would be a bad thing for the World if it did. But rather, that what wealth it has, might need to be spread more evenly among its citizens.

  4. quedula: Equal result is a fools concept that comes from Marxism. It stands to reason that if you wish to give away your earnings than by all means do so, however, keep your Marxist claws off my hard earned money.

Unfortunate for you if you grew up in the UK then you have been been indoctrinated by the socialist dominated school systems. Those that aspired to be social and economic equals have ruined their country. The UK is bankrupt and so is the USA for the same retarded reasons mainly guilt that was accompanied with cheating or gaming the economic system. Most moral folks learned that the Bible holds the truth to live one's life to the fullest without cheating his/her fellow man. The truth is that our Founding Fathers were inspired by Nature's God and put together a constitution that had the goal of limiting the role of government. They knew just as many are finding out for themselves today that government should fear the people and that if the people were living in fear of the governemnt that they would be enslaved by it. I'm not sure of the author, be it Churchill or Thatcher, that stated that socialism is great but eventually you run out of money from the wealthy.

In my United States, the government was only supposed to protect "We, the People" from enemies abroad and to dispense justice according to the constitution against those violations of the law. That law is God's law handed down from antiquity so that all may live equally under it's umbrella. Marxism has none of this as the Marxist and those that follow this bizarre elitist mythology destroys the very thought of God. In Marxism the rules change constantly to whichever way the winds blow in that the elitist determine what is best for their populous morals be damned as there isn't any. AT the very least, the atheist must borrow the concept of morality from the very concept that they have buried, God, a supreme authority. If atheism is so fine a structure, than why did it take so long for to manifest itself upon the peoples of the world. Surely you've known the fine examples of morality of some of it's greatest legends, Hitler, Mao, Stalin, Pol Pot, Ho Chi Minh, Chavez, and the Castro brothers whom put together one of history's greatest trail of the dead which all had to be sacrificed for the "Greater Good of the People."

All of those listed above have bankrupted their nations and in some cases forced war upon the world. All of them knew that their revolutions would fail eventually unless a new threat could be found be it capitalism or the Jews or Christians.
Much like a Ponzi scheme, where the money from the rich must be confiscated to fuel the revolution. When the money ran out, a new threat source must be found and since Marxism doesn't build wealth, the people suffer in a corrupting bureaucracy that stifles all creativity. Funny how Marxism demands atheism. God demands freedom under his law. Atheism demands worship of the words and laws of the oppressors which constantly change to suit however they see fit. If you want the sin of homosexuality then Marxism will give it to you. Perhaps you admire that nice car in garage owned by that neighbor, then by Marxism, you may forcibly take it.

  5. quedula, you just go ahead and go first, and we'll see how that goes for ya'. You could start by buying me a car or a house just as nice as the one you have....

  6. I read your recent article on World Net Daily and had a thought I wanted to share. Recently I have been really thinking about the whole "share the wealth" concept. When government takes over caring for the needy by taxing the working several things happen. The person who "needs" loses the blessing of seeing people come to their aid and help them get back on their feet. Government help is very anonymous but your neighbors, friends, and church members are not. People feel less inclined to take more than what they truly need from people they know and care about. Plus what a blessing form God to see people step and help you. Also it is part of the experience neccessary to have to say to those we know "I need......" The next thing lost when the government controls our "safety net" is the true blessing of giving. We are truly blessed when we can help help a fellow community member during times of trouble. As a Christian I feel like we have given away to the government our duties to be charitable and take care of one another. We don't feel responsible to give a man our extra coat when the government has supposedly done it all for us. We look at that person in need and say "isn't there a program for that? Whay should I help?" THat was sitting on heart in relation to this subject. Thanks for your articles and posts.

  7. I've heard (more than once) that if all of the money in the world were to be evenly distributed to every single person on the planet...within five years, it would be back in the hands of those it was taken from in the first place.

    Get it?
